Maybelle

Our dogs Maybelle and Satchie got into a bad fight a while ago and literally couldn’t even be near each other without trying to attack each other.

We reached out to White Paws for help; they took Maybelle for a month and gave her plenty of structure and training to address the cause of the issue, and now we have both dogs back home together.

We can’t thank White Paws enough for their help, and highly recommend them to our family and friends!

Murphy

Murphy came to our home very frightened and scared. The slightest raised voice would have him running for his crate. Murphy now is more vocal and plays with the toys and now is a real blanket dog. We love him. He plays well with his new brother.

Rocky & Jade

We contacted White Paws because we were at our whits end with our dogs. We have one that is scared of everything and has high anxiety and another that was rescued and had spent most of her life tied to a tree. Trying to get our dogs to listen to us was like wrangling cats and we had needed help training them. White Paws was excellent and took the pair for four weeks and worked with them. We were updated on their progress frequently and were amazed at their progress.

Our dogs now understand simple commands and it has made our life with them much more enjoyable. Although, we still have some work ahead of us, White Paws helped to instill a foundation for them that were able to build from. We couldn’t thank them enough for their hard work and knowledge they gave to us.

If you’re at your whits end and need help in building a foundation for your dog, don’t hesitate to reach out to White Paws. We wished we would have found them sooner as we wasted much of our money with other programs and training with little success.

Argus (formerly Honcho)

Argus (formerly Honcho) was the longest resident at the Waco Humane Society. He found himself on the euthanasia list multiple times, until the day Lexi and James intervened, picking him up to train and prepare him for his forever home. Under their care, Argus underwent the White Paws custom board and train program for 6 weeks, and it was around week 3 that we first crossed paths with him. Lexi and James proved invaluable when we decided to adopt.

They facilitated a meeting with Argus, and it was love at first sight. Providing us with one-on-one training sessions, they patiently answered all our questions and even equipped us with resources detailing their training methods, which we’ve since utilized to teach him numerous new tasks.

Since bringing Argus into our lives, every day has been filled with joy and love. His boundless energy and unwavering loyalty have transformed our home into a place of warmth and companionship. Whether it’s his playful antics that bring laughter to our days or his comforting presence during difficult times, Argus has become an integral part of our family.

His eagerness to learn and his gentle demeanor have not only made him a beloved pet but also a cherished companion. From mastering new tricks to forming a deep connection with each member of our household, Argus continues to surprise and delight us with his intelligence and affection.

Moreover, the sense of fulfillment that comes from knowing we’ve provided him with a loving home and a second chance at life is immeasurable. Argus has taught us the true meaning of resilience and unconditional love, and we are forever grateful to have him by our side. Life without Argus is unimaginable to us now, and we’re profoundly thankful to White Paws for affording him that final opportunity, ultimately leading him to our family.

Biscuit

I met James and Lexi by chance at an event we just happened upon. I started talking to Lexi about training and about how you can train a dog to become a service dog for someone. My 10 year old son and our 6 month old puppy were with me at the time. My son has autism and sometimes just needs a little extra time and something comforting. Lexi told me about a thing dogs can provide to people called deep pressure therapy. I took their card and went along with our day, thinking I’d never see these people again. As the days and weeks went on though, I started watching Mason and Biscuit more closely and thinking about how beneficial this could actually be for him.

He has always loved dogs and he seems way more relaxed when he’s with his dog. I started doing my own research and talking to Mason about how this would work if we got her trained. I thought long and prayed hard about what to do. I finally decided to call Lexi and get more information. It just so happened that they had one more spot for the coming up session. We did an evaluation with Mason, Biscuit, Lexi, and James. They interacted with Biscuit and saw how Mason interacted with her. They said she would be a great fit for what we were looking for. They had an opening to drop her off the next Saturday.

We dropped her off and it was a long 8 weeks without her. But, I could text and get updates whenever and Lexi was great about sending pictures or a video for Mason to see his dog and how she was doing. We were able to go visit every Saturday during those 8 weeks. We did lessons on most of those weeks, but a couple were just to visit and see Biscuit. She was doing so good and Mason was excited to go home and practice saying the commands or holding the leash the way we were taught. It was so cool to watch both of them progressing. Then came the day we finally got Biscuit back. James and Lexi brought her to our home and did a lesson here with us and they were so very thorough about everything. We had a dog who was listening and polite and not pulling on her leash during walks. We were able to register her as a service dog for Mason and they have become an amazing team together.

At this point, we are still doing some lessons with James and Lexi. They are so amazing and really care about long term success. They have continued to help Mason become the handler he needs to be for his dog and help Biscuit become the dog she needs to be for him. We are now able to go out in public (doctor appointments, stores, restaurants) and Mason has full control of Biscuit. She listens to him and is no longer dragging him around when she’s on her leash. It’s amazing to watch him tell her to stay and he can walk around her, make noises, walk away from her, and she doesn’t move until he tells her to come and then she runs straight to him. The best part is, when he is having a moment, he can tell her, “pressure,” and she will come lay across him and just be there for him to love on and help him calm down.

It is easy to see that James and Lexi truly love what they do. They are amazing with not only the dog’s they are training, but also the owners. I had no idea what to expect when we started this journey, but I am so pleased to say they have gone above and beyond what I could have imagined. They have been so good with my dog and my kid! They have helped Mason feel confident when it comes to handling his dog. They have made it a point to make sure he understands what they are talking about and going through step-by-step with him what to do. I could not be more pleased with how everything has turned out.

 Yogi

Yogi did his 30 day obedience training when he was 3 months old.  He did great and we are so happy with the results!

Since Yogi’s training he is a very happy and obedient little dog.  We take him with us to most places we go and he always behaves great!  He’s great around other people but he especially likes kids!

Xena

White paws was amazing they helped us every step of the way to help get my dog trained to be a service dog. They guided us through Training and the steps for registration. I cannot express enough that I truly recommend White Paws for all your dog Training needs. They absolutely are amazing and are with you every step of the way.

Buddy

Our family got our sweet puppy when he was 8 weeks old.  We sent him to White Paws immediately for basic training.  He returned to us completely crate trained and understanding/performing all basic commands.

Additionally they worked with him to decrease his barking and jumping.  He returned a well adjusted and obedient puppy.  James and Lexi have gone above and beyond from taking our puppy to his vet appointments to always being available to answer questions and provide advice when needed.  We highly recommend White Paws!

Pancake
